JCB India Ltd, a prominent company that deals in making earthmoving machines and heavy construction equipment, earned a massive revenue of Rs.8,100 crore towards the end of the year 2017. The organisation had recorded a revenue of Rs.5,550 crore in the year 2014.
This enormous increase in revenue was achieved by the equipment maker with the support of the Union Government of India. The Union Government had offered its assistance to JCB India as it has been paying additional attention to enhance the infrastructure across the entire nation.
JCB India Ltd has been operating in the country since 1979 with its manufacturing activities happening in 3 locations including Pune, Ballabhgarh in the National Capital Region (NCR), and Jaipur. The company has 5 manufacturing facilities in these places. The facility situated in Jaipur is the latest one, which was inaugurated in the year 2014.
The chief executive officer of JCB Group, India, Graeme MacDonald said that the year 2017 was a great year for the company’s international sales of construction equipment particularly because its volumes raised by almost 20%. He also mentioned that the company sold 200,000 units of equipment in China, whereas it sold only around 60,000 units of the same in India. Hence, he thinks that the company has great prospects in India to make more profits through exporting.
JCB India has been enthusiastically focussing on exporting its products so that it solely does not rely on domestic sales. JCB, which has its headquarters in the United Kingdom, has made an investment of around Rs.2,000 crore exclusively for its operations in India. JCB has around 5,000 employees in the country as of now.
With the Indian government investing more funds in infrastructure growth for road construction and maintenance, heavy equipment companies like JCB India can flourish successfully in the nation.
