Keeping India as a priority market since it exited China recently, Uber has promoted Pradeep Parameswaran as the head of India and South Asia operations. The move of the promotion came just after archrival Ola announced that they would be taking their services to Australia. Pradeep Parameswaran elevation was announced by Amit Jain, who said that Parameswaran has played a huge part in the growth of the cab aggregator in India and South Asia over the last 1.5 years. He added by saying that Parameswaran will be beneficial to the growth of the company as he already has 20 years of management experience under his belt.
Following the announcement, Parameswaran said that he was delighted to be in a position to stir a global critical market and after 20 years of shaping businesses over various platforms, he’s excited to see the growth of his new mission over the next 20 years.
In order to compete with rivals such as Ola, Uber India said that they will do everything in their part to enhance the convenience of their customers and make themselves the first choice. Uber India said that they are planning to offer special assistance to senior citizens, physically challenged riders, wheelchair assistance, and put the icing on the cake with their recent UberEats model. Uber CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, said that India is a priority market for the company and they will strengthen their game.
