Oyo enters into a partnership with China’s travel aggregator Ctrip


India’s hospitality startup, Oyo, has entered into a strategic partnership with China’s largest online travel agency, Ctrip. The tie-up will give customers in China access to services of both brands easily.

The partnership is expected to aid the demand as well as the supply end of China’s hospitality sector.

Oyo will work alongside Ctrip and help asset owners on various areas such as aiding with the marketing of services, strengthening the resource pool, increasing online visibility, applying technology, increasing customer traction, and working on the booking process of Ctrip.

Oyo, being the second-largest hospitality chain in China, will now be able to tap the wide reach Ctrip has across the country. It will help the company steer customers to the 10,000 hotels it has tied up with across 320 cities. Oyo China has more than 4.5 lakh exclusive rooms under the 10,000 hotels.

Ctrip has more than 300 million registered users on its platform and the partnership with Oyo will make way to build a full-service value chain that covers different aspects of travel.

Oyo, backed by Softbank, launched the lightweight version of the app, OYO Lite, last month. The application makes it easy for people residing in areas with bad network or low connectivity to avail services offered by the app. Presently, Oyo Hotels and Homes is present in over 800 cities across 24 countries.
