Customers of private banking firm IndusInd Bank can now check their transaction details, statement balance, reward points, etc. through their WhatsApp. In a first-of-its-kind initiative, IndusInd Bank announced a pilot scheme with WhatsApp enterprise solution in a bid to simplify its communication with customers. At present, this system is in the test phase and the range of services is expected to improve with the future updates.
In the test phase, customers can save the official WhatsApp number of IndusInd Bank and initiate a conversation with the bank regarding their account. The test phase allows customers to know their transaction details.
It can also be used to generate a mini statement, check account balance, check reward points, update Aadhaar details, etc. Customers can establish two-way communication with the bank and know the above-mentioned details about their accounts.
According to Ritesh Raj Saxena, Head of Savings, Digital, and Payments, IndusInd Bank, this service will build on the bank’s on-the-go social banking service. He noted that this service was launched to reach out to customers through their preferred channel of communication. By providing the basic banking service through WhatsApp, the bank aims to communicate with its customers in a better way.
Following the successful implementation of this test phase, the bank aims to provide more and more service to its retail and business clients through WhatsApp.
