With life insurers across the country looking for new ways to connect with their customers, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance has got itself a verified WhatsApp business account. From now on, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance customers can get in touch with the customer care unit of the insurer for claim assistance and queries regarding their policies on WhatsApp. Life Insurers such as Future Generali, Bharti AXA Life Insurance, and Tata AIG are also using the instant messaging service for customer engagement. As of now, Life Insurer Bharti AXA has been using WhatsApp to allow its customers to raise claims and scan and upload their documents. The life insurer hopes to allow their customers to renew their policies through WhatsApp and sort out claim settlement issues through the messaging platform.
According to the deputy manager of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Puneet Nanda, they will use the messaging service just to engage with their customers or vice versa for policy enquiries and updates and will not use the platform for informal or advertising purposes.
