Buying LPG cylinders has become costlier, with the prices hiked for both subsidised and non-subsidised cylinders. While a non-subsidised LPG cylinder weighing 14.2 kg will now be costlier by Rs.60, a subsidised LPG cylinder will set you back by an additional Rs.2.94.
This is the sixth hike in LPG cylinder prices in six months, with LPG prices typically revised at the start of each month.
According to a report by IndiaToday, this hike is primarily on account of the tax impact due to the change in the base price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
Prices of subsidised LPG cylinders have increased by Rs.14.13/cylinder since June this year.
Each household is eligible for 12 subsidised LPG cylinders in a year.
Following this price hike, a subsidised LPG cylinder will cost Rs.505.34 in Delhi, Rs.508.70 in Kolkata, Rs.503.11 in Mumbai, and Rs.493.87 in Chennai.

This hike in LPG prices is likely to impact the 1 crore individuals who had opted to give up their LPG subsidy in the year 2015.
